10 Things That Need To Happen From a Marvel/Fox Deal

Hey everyone! It's been awhile I know. But now that's summer in session, I can start posting more regularly. Anyway, you might've heard a large rumor going around that Marvel and Fox are in talks to possibly work out a deal, similar to the one Marvel worked out with Sony last year. Fox hasn't been doing to stellar. Deadpool (as amazing as it was) was an unexpected hit, the X-Men films aren't as profitable anymore (Apocalypse is being seen a commercial and critical disappointment, even though I thought it was a pretty solid film), and the damn-near unspeakable Fantastic Four reboot they gave us. Fans seem to be divided over this issue. Some fans wants either Fox to give back to rights or make a deal with Marvel co-owning the rights or just giving back Fantastic Four and the X-Men stays under the control of Fox. Even though this Marvel and Fox deal rumor could be false, or years away from happening, here's a list of things I want to see happen if the Marvel and Fox work a deal.

1. KEEP THE X-MEN PREQUEL TRILOGY CAST
Fox actually came through with casting with the prequel trilogy. I thought the cast was great. The prequel trilogy films are closer the MCU in tone, quality, and humor, and the prequel trilogy cast would mesh well with the MCU. I'm all for keeping Xavier and Magneto young as well as Cyclops, Jean Grey, Nightcrawler, etc. It'd be cool to see Spider-Man interact with the younger X-Men since they'd be his age. Jennifer Lawrence was great as Mystique and I'd love to see her come back as well as Evan Peters as Quicksilver.

2. DOWNPLAY WOLVERINE AND MYSTIQUE
Fans had a problem with Wolverine being the center of attention during the original trilogy, and Mystique being the center of attention for the prequel trilogy. I love both of these characters and I want to see them in the MCU, but they shouldn't be the center of attention for the X-Men. They should of course stay as major characters but not over glorified as they both were in their respective trilogies.

3. KEEP DEADPOOL EXACTLY THE WAY IT IS.
Deadpool was a fantastic film. It was hilarious, action packed, well directed, had the quality of an MCU film, and gave us a comic accurate Deadpool and Colossus. There's nothing that needs to be changed about Deadpool. Keep it the way it is.

4. FANTASTIC FOUR NEEDS TO BE REBOOTED AND RECASTED UNDER MARVEL.
As I mention earlier, a reason for Fox's downfall was the Fantastic Four reboot they gave us last summer. FAN4STIC has joined the list of the worst comic book movies of all time and has pretty much killed the franchise. There was just so much wrong with that film. Fantastic Four needs to rebooted and recast under Marvel. After last summer's fiasco, no one is going to go see another Fox made Fantastic Four film. It's up to Marvel to save the it's first family. Fox needs to give Marvel complete control over a new Fantastic Four reboot.

5. IF A DEAL IS MADE, FOX NEEDS TO JOIN SONY IN STAYING OUT OF THE WAY DURING PRODUCTION.
It seems that Sony has finally learned it's lesson with studio interference (which is why Spider-Man 3 and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 turned out the way they did, why Spider-Man 4 was cancelled, and why the TASM Cinematic Universe was already over before it started), as they're staying out of the way with the production of Spider-Man: Homecoming. If a deal is made, Fox needs to join Sony in this practice and stay out of the way during production. Fox also had a problem with studio interference, which is why X-Men Origins: Wolverine and FAN4STIC (which was doomed from the start) turned out the way they did. Fox seemed to have learned their lesson with Deadpool as Ryan Reynolds stated that Fox didn't interfere during the production of the movie. If a deal is made, Fox needs to not interfere and let Marvel do their thing.

6. LET TIM MILLER AND/OR MATTHEW VAUGHN TAKE OVER X-MEN.
Bryan Singer, who has helmed the X-Men series since the start (except for X-Men: The Last Stand, X-Men: First Class, and the Wolverine movies) has officially left the franchise. Although he stated he might come back at some point, he's gone for now. A lot of fans are happy about this, as Singer caused changes in the team that did not sit well with fans (such as the way Cyclops was handled in the original trilogy). Now that Singer is out of the picture, if Marvel and Fox make a deal and the X-Men are in the MCU, I think either Tim Miller (who directed Deadpool) or Matthew Vaughn (who directed X-Men: First Class and was a writer on X-Men: Days Of The Future Past) should helm the X-Men series for the MCU. As a stated earlier, Miller gave as a comic accurate Deadpool and Colossus, as well as giving us a beyond stellar film. Vaughn kicked off the X-Men prequel trilogy with X-Men: First Class with a fresh, well written and directed film. Vaughn was also a writer on a Days Of The Future Past, which was hands down the best film of the entire X-Men series. I think either Miller or Vaughn (or maybe even the two can collaborate with a new X-Men film series) should be Singer's successor for an X-Men series for the MCU.
      Tim Miller                                            Matthew Vaughn

And now, here's some fanboy stuff I want to see happen.

7. A SPIDER-MAN/HUMAN TORCH CROSSOVER
Spider-Man and the Human Torch have a long history together and that'd be cool to see them hangout and appear each other's films. It's be cool for Spider-Man to make a cameo in a Fantastic Four movie or the Human Torch being a supporting character in a Spider-Man movie, helping him tackle one of his villans. This would be awesome.

8. A SPIDER-MAN/DEADPOOL CROSSOVER
I think I speak for everyone here when I say this, THIS NEEDS TO HAPPEN.

9. FOX'S QUICKSILVER MEETS MARVEL'S SCARLET WITCH
Fox and Marvel both co-own the rights to Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. They decided to share the rights after they both claimed copyright to the characters. Fox claimed copyright because the twins are mutants and all mutants are theirs. Marvel claimed copyright because the twin's publication history is more associated with The Avengers then they are with the X-Men. So, they decided to share the rights. The deal is that, Fox can't mention the twins as members of The Avengers and Marvel can't mention the twins as mutants or the children of Magneto. In the MCU, both of twins are used but Quicksilver dies at the end of Avengers: Age Of Ultron. In the X-Men series, only Quicksilver is used. If a deal is made and the X-Men prequel cast returns, the Fox version of Quicksilver and the MCU version of Scarlet Witch will have to meet. This would be a very emotional and heartfelt scene. As Scarlet Witch, her brother is dead, as for Quicksilver, he has a little sister. I'd figure Quicksilver would recognize Scarlet Witch as his little sister being all grown up. At that point I would assume Quicksilver would be ready to tell Magento that they're his children. I don't entirely know how this would work but I'm sure Marvel and Fox could figure out something.

10. HULK MEETS THE THING
This I would love to see as a running gag, kind of like in The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

BONUS!
11. Imagine This: A Spider-Man, Deadpool, and Quicksilver crossover!
I think I'd die of laughter.

Anyway guys, those are the thing's I want to see if Marvel and Fox work out a deal and we get the X-Men and the Fantastic Four in the MCU. Tell me what you guys want to see in the comments! See ya later!
