On this day 50 years ago, the first episode (but not the first one produced) of Jonny Quest (created by comic book artist Doug Wildey) "The Mystery of The Lizard Men" aired on ABC. That's right everybody, Jonny Quest turned 50 today! Definitely one the best animated action series to exist. The animation was great, it felt like a living comic book. Great layouts, storylines, characters, villains, and a amazing score from Hoyt Curtin. Happy 50th Jonny. More posts soon!
Scooby-Doo Mystery Inc is back with a new Season tomorrow @ 2:00! With new mysteries, more Hanna-Barbera characters, and the show is weekly! The first episode of Season 2 is on Cartoon Network.com!
It's been year (not in the show) since the epic season finale. In case you missed it, here's the important parts:
The gang was able to solve the mystery of Crystal Cove. The Freak of Crystal Cove turned out to be FRED'S FATHER! Fred found out that the pictures of his mother were actually cut outs from a magazine. It the date was the same day Fred was born, or the same day his dad said he was born. When Fred asked why, Mayor Jones explained: The cursed treasure. The reason he came to Crystal Cove was because of it. He got a place in the History Department of Darrow University, where they gave him access to the towns archives, where he read about the lost consuistaders. That's when he first put on the mask. To search the planispheric disc and to scare off other hunters. He didn't find anything: until the original Mystery Inc approved him with a scroll they found. Only Pericles knew what they found. So exchange for the Freak's knowledge, Pericles betrayed the group. Jones and Pericles made forged documents framing their parents. Mystery Inc ended up giving the disc to the Freak (who at the time they didn't know who he was) and was forced to leave Crystal Cover for the sake of their families. The next thing in the way was Pericles: He knew too much. Jones chloroformed him and they him onto the ground (which is how Pericles lost his eye) and framed Pericles for the whole thing and he was jailed before he regained consciousnesses. As Mayor, Jones was able to keep searching, and he would've gotten away with it too if wasn't for his meddling...Fred. But Fred says it still doesn't answer to where his mother is, and that he wanted to know.
Jones tells him that he honestly doesn't know. And that he assumes that she's still with Brad Chiles. Then Daphne pulls out the locket that she found and asks Jones if Judy Reeves if Fred's mother, and then Jones admits that Brad Chiles is Fred's REAL father. He explains that Brad tried to return to Crystal Cove, at at the time he and Judy had married, and she's given birth to a baby boy. To keep them out, he kidnapped Fred and promised them he'd be safe as long as they never come back. Fred is shocked and angry that Jones had used him (so this might indicate that Fred might not even be his real name, and Fred might be older because his birthday might be fake as well)) for a treasure that might not even exist. Soon they found out that disk is missing and Jones says they need to find it because it's priceless. Fred then throws Jones and runs to the edge of the cliff, and Daphne follows. Fred is sad and depressed that he whole life has been lie and he has parents he's never known. Daphne says they'll get through this and they'll find them together. But Fred says he must do this alone and he breaks off his engagement with Daphne, and leaves Crystal Cove to look for his parents. Daphne tells Shaggy and Scooby to go after him, but their stopped by Shaggy's parents. Shaggy's mom says that she and his dad have thought over things it's it best that he "goes away" for awhile. To make a long story short Shaggy's parents plans to send him to a Military Academy, and they've found a "nice farm" for Scooby to live on. Daphne is heartbroken over what happened and blames Velma on the entire thing for not telling them about Angel sooner. All seems lost for the gang but Pericles has the disc they found and plans to collect the other 4 disks. But Scooby vows tho get the gang back together and that they'll be coming after Pericles or his name isn't "SCOOBY-DOOBY-DOO!" What a season finale! I can't wait for Season 2 tomorrow! More Later!
Cartoon Network has brought back "Cartoon Planet"! Cartoon Planet first aired on Cartoon Network & TBS in the '90's and was taken off air in 2000. The show was hosted by Space Ghost, Brak, & Zorak. Now CN has brought it back, airing CN classics like Cow & Chicken, Ed Edd n Eddy, Dexter's Laboratory, and more! The New version is hosted by Brak & Zorak (sadly Space Ghost is not returning due to George Lowes retiring from his role as Space Ghost). Here's a the new logo:
It's pretty cool. The showed a lot of CN classic show last night. It's something we've been waiting for. Here's the first new promo from the show:
Also, tomorrow is the launch of Disney XD's new "Inside Marvel Universe" block. With the premieres of "Ultimate Spider-Man" & Season 2 of "The Avengers: Earths Mightiest Heroes". It's also gonna be pretty good. Check out this picture:
And also tomorrow (besides being April Fools Day!) is when all the Lego Super Heroes sets for Marvel Come out! I can't wait to buy them! So tune into Inside Marvel Universe on Sundays, and tune into the new Cartoon Planet on Fridays!
Hey everyone! The Giants won the super bowl! And that here was a riot in Boston. Anyway, new Regular Show tonight! It's called "Skips vs. Technology". Skips lacks computer skills and can't help Mordecai and Rigby master technology. Also, here's the Jonny Quest episode, "Curse of Anubis:. I had this up on it's own post, but the video got deleted, so I decided to put it up on this post. I might fix the other one later. Dr. Quest's old friend (who has turned Arab nationalist revolutionary) attempts to frame him for a crime, committed by him. But the mummy of Egyptian god Anubis is alive, and is is stalking him (his servants see Anubis, but Dr. Ahmed Kareem doesn't see Anubis). The episode is pretty good. CHECK IT OUT!
Back in '64 (the debut year of Jonny Quest), Gold Key Comics (who made comics of multiple licensed characters, their own series, and re-prints of things that came from Dell Comics "Four Color" (when Dell and Western Publishing were partners)) published a one shot (1 issue comic book) about the first episode "The Mystery of the Lizard Men". The comic is extremely rare and is a hard find. Here's a picture of the front and back cover:
I'm not sure who did the artwork, and I'm not sure if it's Doug Wildey (the shows creator and comic book artist). I did like The episode, and thought it was pretty good. I've never read the book, but thanks to ClassicJonnyQuest.com, they give you a page and some extra stuff. Here's a page:
Also here's the characters page. Hadji wasn't in the episode so here's not on the page, but on the cover, there's a box that has the characters on it, including Hadji.
Hey everyone. Lots of websites are fighting SOPA and PIPA because they might censor the web (for example, Wikipedia has blacked out their website until tomorrow and Google's covered their logo)! The sites are encouraging everyone to go out and join the cause. Anyway, here the first episode ever of Scooby-Doo, "What a Night For a Night". Shaggy and Scooby are walking home from the movies and stumble upon a crashed truck and a suit of knight armor. Shaggy contacts the rest of the gang, and they get themselves in another mystery! Can they solve the the mystery Also the video has Spanish subtitles. CHECK IT OUT!
Here's another Hokey Wolf favorite, "The Glass Sneaker". This has a Cinderella tie in. A Prince hires Hokey and Ding-A-Ling to find a certain girl who he fell in love with at the ball they had last night (Cinderella). She had also left her glass sneaker behind. Now Hokey and Ding-A-Ling must find the right girl who the sneaker fits. Yogi Bear is mentioned in this episode. Hokey and Ding-A-Ling has to go through the who stepsister thing (afterward Hokey makes jokes about the stepsisters big feet, and sister ends up beating Hokey up), and this episode is really funny! CHECK IT OUT!
Here's another Hokey Wolf favorite, "Rushing Wolf Hound". A Farmer that Hokey and Ding-A-Ling pester buys a African "Anti Wolf" Hound named "Mow Mow". Mow Mow will go crazy if somebody says "Wolf", and/or if he sees a Wolf. When Hokey and Ding-A-Ling try to get some of the farmers chicken, Mow Mow attacks Hokey. Now it's up to Hokey and Ding-A-Ling to stop Mow Mow. CHECK IT OUT!
Here's one of my favorite episodes of Yogi Bear, "Papa Yogi". When a Father-Son picnic event comes to Jellystone park, Yogi and Boo-Boo dress up as a Father and Son to get food, and to avoid Ranger Smith. It has a really funny ending also (I also, I'm using 220.ro), CHECK IT OUT!
Here's my favorite episode of Hokey Wolf, "Chock Full of Chuck Wagon". While traveling in the west, Hokey and Ding-A-Ling try to get some food from a cowboy. If you don't know Hokey Wolf, read the Huckleberry Hound post. But anyway, Hokey Wolf is a Hanna-Barbera cartoon character. After Yogi Bear got his own show in 1961, Hokey replaced Yogi's segment on Huckleberry Hound. He has the talk of Top Cat, and the skills of Yogi Bear. He's also similar to another HB wolf, Loopy De Loop. Plus he has a sidekick named Ding-A-Ling Wolf. Bits of this episode is frequently shown on Cartoon Network's Boomerang. More Hokey Wolf and Ding-A-Ling later! Also, I'm using 220.ro because this episode is not on YouTube. CHECK IT OUT!
Hey everyone! I took a few days off of blogging but now I'm back! I went to New York City today. I saw so many cool stuff. I went to Times Square, I got new clothes, and a new DVD. One thing that bugs me is that people on the streets trying to you to got on tours, sometimes even following you. I bet these people have something better to do. But anyway $10 I got "Saturday Morning Cartoons Vol. 1" from this people selling DVD. It's a REAL COPY. Not a fake. It's kind of awkward talking about Saturday Morning Cartoons when it's Sunday Night. But anyway it features various Hanna-Barbera, Warner Bros, MGM, plus feature like Documentaries on shows and Saturday Moring Wake Up Calls and More! Here's the picture of the DVD:
But, I think the best part of going to New York is going to Midtown Comics. That place is AMAZING! They have Comics, Comic Collections, Graphic Novels, Manga, DVDs, and more! What a place! They have some replica's of Spider-Man, The Hulk, and more! Some famous people in Comics sometimes come their! I even saw The Amazing Spider-Man #5 (1963) in Fair condition for 18000. Amazing how much those are now when you save your comics. Now I'm keeping my comics in Good Condition 'cause their gonna be worth a lot! Here's Midtown Comics picture:
So that pretty much wraps up the weekend. I can't wait to go on vacation , 'cause I need a good long vacation.
It's finally here. The season 2 finale of Scooby-Doo Mystery Inc! The mystery of Crystal Cove unlocked! I can't wait to see what happens. In the previous episode. Angel Dynamite (the radio personality on Crystal Cove's radio station) that her real name is Cassidy Jones and She was one of the members of the original members of the Original Mystery Inc, She says that all the original members were forced to leave town by threats against their families after they found the "map." Angel warns that it could happen to them, and urges them to give their piece to Mr. E or Professor Pericles, she doesn't care which, to end the case and the danger to themselves. Fred refuses to listen to her because she lied to them from the start and that the mystery's not over 'till they say it's over. And Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy, and Scooby drive off, while Angel screams out that the Freak of Crystal Cove is still i the town. And then in the back, you can see the Freak talking in poem form. I can't wait to see it!
Cartoon Network is having a Scooby-Doo Mystery Inc/Scooby-Doo movie marathon. Leading up to the season finale so tune into Cartoon Network tonight @ 7:30, because you will not want to miss this.

Anyway, here's Jonny Quest episode 4, "Pursuit of Po-Ho". The Quest family has to rescue Dr. Quest's friend Emil (don't worry, he didn't go crazy and blame the Quest on anything or try to kill them) from a tribe of weird men. Their really weird and I can't understand the language. CHECK IT OUT!
Here's the first Tom and Jerry cartoon called "Puss Get's the Boot". Released in 1941, their were a lot of stuff that was later changed. In this short, Tom is called Jasper, and Jerry is called Jinx. Hey guys, I have family over, so sorry for the long wait. Here's Jonny Quest episode 1 "The Mystery of the Lizard Men". For those of you who don't know what Jonny Quest is, it's an old action cartoon that aired on ABC from '64-'65. Hanna-Barbera's second TV series, the FIRST cartoon EVER to win an Emmy, and this show gave Yogi his own show. Is "The Huckleberry Hound Show". A Hanna-Barbera TV show that gave them a Emmy and entertained kids over America on syndicatied TV. The Seires started in 1958. That's Huckleberry Hound for ya!
This is also the first Hanna-Barbera series to have backup segments. Along with 2 other back up segments the first of 2 is "Pixie and Dixie and Mr. Jinks", Tom and Jerry's succesor. Huck's show ended in 1962, compelteing it's 4 year run. Through Huck, Pixie, Dixie, Mr. Jinks, Yogi, Boo-Boo, Hokey, and Ding-A-Ling appeared in H-B seires throughout the decades.
